A total of $56,383.62 was awarded in 2015-16.
During the last 27 years, the Foundation, a non-profit organization, has funded 576 student scholarships, 166 employee and/or prior graduate scholarships, 414 grants for teachers and schools, and 41 special projects, totaling $1,072,455.88. A tremendous amount of this was made possible through payroll deduction by school employees.
The main goal of the Baker County Education Foundation is to promote quality education. Through the years, a number of business partners have participated in helping the Foundation achieve these goals. For 2015-16 they were: Walmart Distribution, First Federal Bank of FL, GFWC Women's Club, In-steel Wire Products, Macclenny Lions Club, Fox Hunters Association, Baker County Farm Bureau, and several local families, who gave memorial or “in honor of” contributions. These are joined by literally hundreds of school district employees and private individuals.
If you are a contributor, we hope that you will continue your support of the Foundation. If you are not involved, please consider becoming a member this year. You will be supporting the development of our greatest assets, our children. Also, the Foundation benefits from the purchase of specialty education vehicle tags. A portion of the tag sale is returned to the Foundation.
REMEMBER, YOUR CONTRIBUTION IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE!
